Push Back Racking System
Push back racking is a first-in-last-out (FILO) storage system designed for unitary palletized goods.
About
Push back racking system is a high-density storage system, it can make the most use of the warehouse spaces, so it saves space. In the same area, push-back racks can store many more goods compared with conventional pallet racks. Push back racking system doesn’t need a forklift to go into the racking lanes, so enhances the safety factor for the forklift operator.
How It Works
- A push back pallet rack system is a gravity flow racking system that stores pallets on wheeled carts nesting on inclined storage rails.
- When pallets are loaded or unloaded from the system, they require a cart that moves up and down angled rails.
- When a product is loaded into the system, a pallet is placed on a cart and pushed back one position at the pick face.
- The next cart becomes available with the last pallet resting on the rails. A push back pallet rack system can help you save cost and space.
- Pushback systems store pallets on wheeled carts that rest in rails, utilizing the force of gravity
- Tilted towards the unloading end of the rack, this enables the forklift operator to load pallets onto the carts, and push them back as the next pallet is loaded
- The pallet that was behind will now be at the pick face.
Step 1:
Site Visit & Evaluation
We determine the project's objectives during the site inspection. When our crew arrives with the necessary tools, they will take measurements, inspect the building completely, and then share their findings with you, the customer.
Step 2:
Proposal Submittal
Your allocated sales representative will collaborate with the team to configure a strategy that will best meet your needs using the information gathered during the site inspection. The project idea will subsequently be presented for evaluation.
Step 3:
Contract Execution
Our crew starts working as soon as the contract is signed! Designing, submitting, and getting Building & High Pile Plans approved is our area of expertise.
Step 4:
Permit Approval & Material Delivery
In order to ensure that we are prepared to start installation as soon as permits are obtained, our team schedules material deliveries to coincide with those dates.
Step 5:
Installation
We have a professional, bonded, and insured installation team. We promise that your project will be successfully completed from beginning to end since we will have a Project Manager, an Install Manager, and a Head Foreman on site.
Step 6:
Inspection By The City & Client Sign Off
We plan the inspection and final walkthrough when installation is finished. The project receives approval from the relevant department if everything is in order.

ADVANTAGES
- Allows for storage of more SKU’s
- Easy and fast loading and unloading of pallets
- Large, coated wheels allow carts to roll smoothly
- Low profile cart stac offers mac storage height
- Forklifts never have to enter the rack, preventing rack damage
- 90% more storage than standard selective racks
SAFETY
- Loading (Keep the pallet level when loading/unloading. When set, it should be centered on the cart)
- Unloading (If the forklift pulls away too quickly, the remaining pallets could slide forward and fall. Resulting in damage)
- Maintenance (These systems require little to no maintenance besides recommended monthly safety checks)
How do I know if pushback is right for my warehouse?
This system is ideal for warehouses that store a high volume of product. Limited number of pallets per SKU and a high volume of turnover.
Is the system customizable?
Yes, the already custom-engineered system can be individualized to fit unique applications. They may be customized to accommodate pallets of different sizes and strengths.
